Quito, the Capital of Ecuador, becomes one of the most important inhabited centers since the year 500 A,C, to our days. The tribe of the Quitus, establish their domains in the slopes of the Pichincha volcano and the eastern valleys, organized in 11 independent lordships without any hierarchy, but with strong commercial relationships and impressive systems to cultivate the land.

During the different centuries many important cultures have inhabited these lands as the Incas who arrived at the end of the 15th century, settling in Quito in the 1500s, place where the last king of the empire Atahualpa was born.

Just a few years later, in 1534 the Spanish conquistadores together with the Franciscan order, arrived and founded the current city under the name of “San Francisco de Quito”.
